Maths:
Times tables:
Year 4 is an important time for times tables and the children need to know all their tables to 12x. They need to develop speed and accuracy as they will be completing an MTC check towards the end of the year. This consists of answering 25 questions with 6 seconds given per question. We know this is super quick so the children should be making use of 'sound check' on TT Rock stars and 'Daily Ten' to help them develop both speed and accuracy.
We are also practising this in class.
In mathematics this term we are learning more about place value.
English
Based on our class novel - Romulus and Remus, children will be writing for different purposes including, poetry, narrative and recount. We will be continuing to learn to use different sentence types.
Reading
We are enjoying our dedicated reading time in class. The CUSP book we ae currently reading is 'The Queen's Nose' by Dick King Smith.
Wonderful examples of activities in our English books
