Marshfield Primary School is celebrating after receiving national recognition at the 2026 TES Schools Awards.
The school was shortlisted in two categories, with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team named a finalist for EYFS Team of the Year, and Head of School, Zara Kearns, shortlisted for Headteacher of the Year, where Zara received Highly Commended recognition by the TES judges.
The TES Schools Awards celebrate the very best schools and education professionals from across the country, making the recognition a significant achievement for the Marshfield community.
The EYFS Team of the Year shortlist reflects the outstanding work taking place in the school’s Early Years provision, where staff are committed to providing children with the strongest possible start to their education. The team’s dedication, expertise and passion have helped create an environment where children thrive from the moment they join the school.
The recognition for Zara Kearns follows an exceptional period of success at Marshfield. Under her leadership, the school has achieved an Outstanding judgement in all areas from Ofsted, secured some of the highest Key Stage 2 outcomes both locally and nationally, and established itself as the primary school of choice for families in the local area.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Zara said:
“This was a special moment for Marshfield.
I’m immensely proud to see our EYFS team shortlisted for EYFS Team of the Year. Their passion, expertise and commitment to giving children the very best start is evident every day, and it was wonderful to see that recognised on a national stage.
I was also honoured to receive a Highly Commended recognition in the Headteacher of the Year category. Awards like these are only ever possible because of the people around you, and I am fortunate to work with an exceptional team.”
Although the school did not take home an award on the evening, being recognised among the very best schools and educators in the country is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the hard work and commitment of staff across Marshfield.
Everyone at Marshfield Primary School would like to congratulate the EYFS team and Zara on their well-deserved national recognition. Their achievements reflect the school’s continued commitment to providing an exceptional education and the very best opportunities for every child.
