Moving School Mid-Year
You can apply for a place at any time during the school year.
Families look for in-year school places for different reasons, including:
- Moving to Little Horton or surrounding area
- Changes in family circumstances
- Wanting a different school for their child
- Looking for more support
- A fresh start

Places Available at Marshfield Primary School
Places change during the year depending on the number of pupils in each class.
We currently have limited places available in:
- Reception, Year 2 and Year 3
If your preferred year group is full, please still get in touch with us. We can talk through your options and let you know if a place becomes available.
How to Apply for an In-Year Place
In-year applications are managed through Bradford Council.
The process is easy:
- Contact us (Marshfield) to check places and arrange a visit
- Complete the local authority application form (we will help you)
- We will confirm if a place is available
- If offered a place, we will agree a start date

Supporting Your Child to Settle In
We know that moving school can feel like a big change, and we help all new children feel welcome and ready to learn.
This includes:
- A meeting before your child starts
- A buddy to help them settle in
- A welcome card from the new class
- Checking what your child can do and where they may need help
- Extra support from staff in the first few weeks
- Keeping in touch with parents
