Marshfield Primary School Judged Good by Ofsted
Thu 11 Jan 2018Dear Parents/Carers,
As you will be aware the school was inspected by Ofsted on the 5th and 6th December 2017.
We have now received the final inspection report. I am very pleased and proud to inform you that our school has been judged to be a ‘Good’ school. The report will be published on the Ofsted website on Thursday 18th January; a copy is available on our school website (please follow Parents>Letters Home).
Securing the judgement of ‘Good’ for Marshfield is testament to the hard work and commitment of all our children, staff and governors over the past two years. I would also like to thank our families and the local community who have supported our school unreservedly in the significant improvements that we have made.
The report highlights the many strengths that can be found within our school and praises the hard work and dedication of all staff and governors, who have been found to share their ‘ambitious and aspirational’ vision in their drive for continuous school improvement.
I am delighted that many of our pupils were able to share their personal views of our school, as were so many parents. This has enabled inspectors to positively reflect on all that Marshfield does to ensure your children achieve well and enjoy their time with us in such a happy, safe and secure learning environment.
On a more personal note, I feel both honoured and privileged to lead such a wonderful team and as this report marks the start of a great 2018 for Marshfield, it also marks the start of even greater success in future years.
Our school council will be meeting next week to plan a ‘Celebration Day’ for all our children and I will be meeting with Mrs Pandor to plan something equally exciting for our parents and carers.
If you have any questions regarding the report, please do not hesitate speak to either myself or governors.
Yours Sincerely,
Mrs Victoria Hartford
Headteacher

Year 5 ‘Bake It’ IPC Exit Point
Thu 04 Jan 2018Year 5 delivered their usual high quality IPC Exit Point this afternoon. To expertly conclude their 'Bake It' topic, all children had baked bread, pizzas, biscuits and cakes which were on sale for parents and carers to enjoy. An excellent array of home learning was also exhibited, where children had researched, prepared and evaluated many beautifully baked food products. Impressed to see lots of instructional texts being used to effectively present and organise ideas.Thank you to the many parents and carers who attended to witness their children's wonderful learning at first hand.
