Marshfield Primary School shortlisted for two national Tes Schools Awards

Everyone at Marshfield Primary School is celebrating after being shortlisted in two categories at the Tes Schools Awards 2026.

The school has been shortlisted for EYFS Setting of the Year, while Headteacher Zara Kearns has also been recognised nationally in the Headteacher of the Year (State) category.

The Tes Schools Awards celebrate the very best schools and educators from across the UK and are among the most respected awards in education. This year’s shortlist was selected from a record number of nominations, making the recognition even more significant.

The shortlistings follow another exceptional year for the school, including outstanding SATs results and further recognition through the 2026 T&A Education Awards.

Zara Kearns, Headteacher at Marshfield Primary School, said:

“This recognition is a whole-team achievement. The EYFS shortlisting means a huge amount and reflects our belief that getting the very start of a child’s education right makes all the difference. I feel lucky to work with a team who bring that vision to life every day. The headteacher nomination feels quite surreal and is very much a reflection of the collective effort and culture we’ve built together as a school community.”

Adrian Kneeshaw, Chief Executive Officer of Carlton Academy Trust, added:

“These shortlistings are a reflection of the dedication, ambition and care shown by staff across Marshfield every single day. To see the school and its leadership recognised nationally is thoroughly deserved.”

The award nominations recognise the dedication of staff, pupils and families, alongside the school’s continued commitment to delivering the highest standards of education and opportunities for every child.

The winners of the Tes Schools Awards 2026 will be announced later this year. The full shortlist can be viewed here: Shortlist| Tes UK Schools Awards | Tes
