We are committed to preparing our children for a rapidly changing digital world. Our Computing curriculum is designed to develop confident, safe, and creative users of technology. Through high-quality teaching and the effective use of Purple Mash, we ensure every learner can explore, problem-solve, design, create, and think critically.
We believe that Computing equips children with essential life skills. Our curriculum enables pupils to:
- Understand how technology works,
- Develop coding and computational thinking skills,
- Use a range of digital tools to create, design, and present ideas,
- Use technology safely and responsibly,
- Apply digital skills across all areas of learning.

E-Safety at Marshfield
E-Safety is at the heart of our Computing curriculum, along with being taught through our Connect lessons. We teach children how to use technology safely, respectfully, and responsibly, preparing them for life online both now and in the future.

Through dedicated lessons, ongoing discussions, and the structured e-safety units in Purple Mash, children learn to:
- Recognise potential online risks and know how to respond,
- Protect personal information,
- Understand online relationships and digital behaviour,
- Identify reliable and unreliable information,
- Communicate safely and respectfully,
- Know where to seek help if they feel uncomfortable or unsure.
E-Safety is woven throughout all Computing lessons and reinforced across the wider curriculum. We work closely with parents, carers, and the wider school community to support safe digital habits at home and at school.
